Your route in three steps: 1. Get the copie intégrale, fiche anthropométrique or acte de mariage → 2. Moroccan apostille (court, or province or prefecture) → 3. Sworn translation into Spanish

We are not affiliated with the DGSN, the Moroccan courts, BLS or any Spanish authority.

Arabic-speaking support by WhatsApp (+44 7482 545337) and email (info@spainsworntranslators.com). You can also write to us about French documents.

In Spanish this is a traducción jurada de documentos marroquíes, from Arabic or French (in French, a traduction assermentée). Send scans from anywhere in Spain or Morocco; originals are never needed.

Moroccans are the largest foreign community in Spain, with 968,999 residents according to the INE 2025 population statistics. Many arraigo, family reunification and nationality files rest on the same three Moroccan certificates. More countries: documents from every country we cover.

Already living in Spain? Getting Moroccan papers apostilled from here

You can get Moroccan certificates apostilled without moving back, but the apostille is always issued in Morocco. Request the document from the issuing office, have it apostilled there, and send us the scan. Extranjería, the Registro Civil and nationality files then receive one sworn translation of document and apostille.

Route from Spain How it works Check first
Fiche anthropométrique online Request it on the DGSN e-police portal with your electronic ID card; it is collected at a centre The DGSN e-police portal, for the current collection options
A relative or authorised person in Morocco They request the copie intégrale or acte de mariage and take it for the apostille Ask the issuing office what authorisation it requires
Your Moroccan consulate in Spain Ask which civil-status services it offers to residents Your consulate's own service list
Then: send us the scan Scan every page, including the apostille We translate both together

One more option exists. Hoja 61 accepts a translation made by your country's consulate in Spain, then apostilled or legalised by MAEC. A MAEC sworn translation skips that extra step. We do not order Moroccan documents for you; we translate them once the apostille is on.

How do I apostille Moroccan documents for Spain?

You apostille Moroccan documents for Spain in Morocco itself. Morocco has applied the Apostille Convention since 14 August 2016, so no Spanish consulate legalisation follows. Get the apostille on the original certificate. Then send us a scan of both for sworn translation into Spanish.

The one fact that matters: a Moroccan apostille comes from one of two authorities, depending on the document.

Step Where What to know
1. Get the document Civil status office, DGSN or court Full birth copy, not an extract
2. Apostille Court or provincial/prefectural authority (HCCH status table) In force for Morocco since 14 August 2016
3. Sworn translation Online, with us French certificates in 24–48 hours, Arabic in 3–4 working days; signed PDF, or paper if an office insists

We translate the apostille together with the document, as Spanish offices expect. Background: apostille before or after translation. For one order covering both steps, see apostille and sworn translation.

Who issues the apostille in Morocco?

Moroccan apostilles are issued by the courts (judicial documents) or the provincial or prefectural authorities (administrative documents). The courts are the courts of first instance, the courts of appeal and the Court of Cassation, under the Ministry of Justice. Local authorities act under the Ministry of Interior.

A divorce ruling follows the court route; see divorce decree sworn translation into Spanish. For civil status or police records, ask the issuing office which authority apostilles them.

What is the fiche anthropométrique and how is it translated?

The fiche anthropométrique is Morocco's police record certificate, issued by the DGSN. You request it online through the e-police portal with your electronic ID card, then collect it at a centre. After the apostille, a sworn translator translates the certificate and its apostille into Spanish.

For visas, Spanish consulates in Morocco commonly ask for a recent fiche and birth certificate. Check your consulate's current checklist for the maximum age. Inside Spain, validity is set by each office, commonly 3 to 6 months. Arraigo files need a criminal record certificate from each country you lived in during the last 5 years, as the arraigo Hoja states.

Morocco fiche anthropométrique apostille for Spain

Apostille the fiche soon after issue, because its validity clock is already running. Request it last, then send the scan. Translation: police clearance certificate sworn translation.

Last checked: 1 October 2026.

Why does the full birth certificate matter?

Spanish offices generally ask for the full copy of a Moroccan birth record, the copie intégrale (literal), not an extract. Some consulates add their own conditions on the apostille and the date of issue. Request the full copy first, then the apostille, then the sworn translation.

Ask for the acte de naissance intégral, which Spanish offices often call the partida de nacimiento marroquí. Its traducción jurada covers every line and stamp. Spanish consulates in Morocco set their own conditions, such as an apostille on the birth certificate plus a sworn translation. Always follow your consulate's current checklist.

The apostille goes on the full copy, never the extract. Order one for each family member named in your file. Translation: birth certificate sworn translation.

Which Moroccan civil status and police documents do we translate?

We translate the Moroccan certificates that Spanish offices request most, together with their apostilles. Many are bilingual, in Arabic and French. The French or Arabic sworn translator who signs your document is MAEC-appointed and works with their own official seal. Your quote confirms the delivery date.

According to the official register as of August 2026, Spain has about 1,289 French sworn translators and about 59 Arabic sworn translators. Language detail: French to Spanish sworn translation and Arabic to Spanish sworn translation.

Why are Moroccan translations sent back by Spanish offices?

Besides an extract sent instead of the full birth copy, these slips cause most delays:

  • Hijri and Gregorian dates. Where both appear, the translator renders each exactly as written.
  • French-style names. Names are often transliterated in French style, such as Ou- or -ch. The translator keeps your passport spelling and adds a translator's note.
  • Answering a requerimiento late. You have 10 working days (días hábiles) under Ley 39/2015, article 68. See correction notice sworn translation.
  • Paying intermediaries for appointments. Visas go through the Spanish consulates or their BLS centres directly.

What do Moroccan families pay for an official Spanish translation?

We charge in euros, and your card or bank converts from dirhams. You pay one fixed total, agreed before you pay. The quote also confirms the delivery date. Spanish sworn translators set fees freely, so compare totals, not page rates alone.

As an indicative market range, sworn translations in Spain cost about €30–120 a page: roughly €30–80 for the first page and €15–40 for later pages (Cronoshare, January 2026). This is a market range, not our price.

The apostille page is translated with the document, and your quote shows it in the total. For prices by document, see our price list. You can get a fixed quote for your Moroccan certificates from a clear phone photo.

Frequently asked questions

Can a Moroccan family book be translated?

Yes. A sworn translator can translate the livret de famille like any public document. Spanish offices usually also ask for each person's full birth copy, so check first.

Which documents do Moroccans in Spain need most?

The full birth copy, the fiche anthropométrique and the marriage certificate, for arraigo, reunification and nationality files.

Is a kafala accepted as an adoption in Spain?

Do not assume so. How a kafala is treated depends on the procedure and the office, so check your consulate's current checklist and take legal advice. We translate kafala documents faithfully but give no legal advice on their effect.

Can I get my Moroccan documents translated online while I am in Spain?

Yes. Send scans, including the apostille, from Spain or Morocco. The signed PDF arrives by email, ready to file online or at your Extranjería office.

How do I get a Moroccan birth certificate translation for Spain?

Order the copie intégrale, have it apostilled in Morocco, then send us the scan. A MAEC sworn translator translates the certificate and its apostille into Spanish, usually within 24–48 hours for French-language copies.

Where do I upload my Moroccan certificates for a sworn translation?

You upload them through our form, as scans or clear photos of every page, including the apostille. Originals are never needed. You then receive a fixed total in euros, with the delivery date, before you pay anything.
