How fast can I get a sworn translation?
A one- or two-page certificate can be delivered the same day if received and paid by 12:00 noon on a working day. Our 24-hour option suits most other certificates. Our normal speed is 24–48 hours for one page. Your quote confirms the exact delivery time.
| Tier | Order by (Spanish time, CET/CEST) | Delivered by (Spanish time, CET/CEST) | Typical documents | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Same day | 12:00 noon on a working day, received and paid | 20:00 the same day, as a signed PDF | 1–2 page certificate in a common language | Order price +60%, minimum €25 extra |
| 24 hours | Any time once paid | Within 24 hours, subject to translator availability | Short certificates and documents | Order price +30% |
| Standard | Any time | 24–48 hours for 1 page; 2–3 working days for 2–5 pages | Certificates, degrees, short transcripts | From €29 per certificate |
| Longer files | Any time | 3–5 working days for 6–10 pages; custom deadline over 10 | Transcripts, syllabi, judgments | Quoted per file |
| Rare languages | Any time | 3–4 working days for 1–2 pages; 5–7 for 3–10 pages | Chinese, Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic and others | From €39 or €49 per certificate |
Urgent delivery in rare languages is available on request, subject to translator availability. These are starting prices. For your final price, send your details through the quote form. We email you a written quotation, and work starts only after you approve it.
Times are Spanish time (CET/CEST). The UK is one hour behind Spain; India is 3.5 to 4.5 hours ahead. Same-day orders also need your quick reply to the draft.
The signed PDF arrives by email. Under Orden AUC/213/2025, an electronically signed sworn translation has been valid since 8 March 2025. So there is no courier wait; see digital sworn translation in Spain. If an office insists on paper, allow extra days.
What can be translated the same day?
Same-day delivery suits short civil and police documents: a one- or two-page certificate with a clear scan and its apostille already on. Typical examples are a birth, marriage, death or single-status certificate, or a police certificate. Longer, handwritten or damaged documents need more time.
A document usually qualifies for same day when:
- it is short, such as one certificate and its apostille, in a common language;
- the scan is clear, with every stamp readable;
- the apostille or legalisation is already attached;
- you send and pay by 12:00 noon on a working day, and approve the draft quickly.
It usually does not qualify when it is a transcript, a syllabus, a court judgment or a multi-page deed. Those follow the longer-file times in the table.
How do deadlines work for correction notices, citas and visa appointments?
Work back from the date the office sets. A correction notice (requerimiento de subsanación) gives 10 working days (días hábiles) under Ley 39/2015, art. 68, and art. 30 excludes weekends and holidays. Miss it and the application is treated as withdrawn. For a cita or visa appointment, the translation should be ready by the working day before.
Answering a requerimiento from Extranjería
Send the notice the day it arrives. Art. 68.2 allows up to 5 more days in some cases, but only if you ask before the 10 working days end. Our sworn translation for a correction notice page explains how replies are filed. Source: Ley 39/2015. Last checked: 1 October 2026.
A cita at Extranjería, the Registro Civil or a notary
Order once the document is apostilled, not weeks early. A police certificate is valid for a period set by each office, commonly 3 to 6 months. See our urgent police certificate translation for a residence or nationality file. Civil records often go with it: a birth certificate translation into Spanish or a marriage certificate sworn translation. For TIE, renewal and arraigo files, see Extranjería sworn translation.
Regularisation permits coming up for renewal
The 2026 regularisation permits last one year, so renewals fall due from 2027. If a renewal needs a new criminal-record certificate translated at short notice, see our regularisation and renewal sworn translation page.
A visa appointment abroad
Book the translation for the working day before your consulate or BLS appointment. Our sworn translation for a Spain visa page lists what consulates usually ask for. Country routes: UK documents for Spain and Indian documents for Spain.
How much extra does urgent delivery cost?
Same-day delivery adds 60% to the order price, with a minimum of €25 extra. 24-hour delivery adds 30%. Delivery in 24–48 hours for one page carries no surcharge. Standard amounts are on our sworn translation prices page.
As an indicative market range, sworn translations in Spain cost about €30–120 a page. That is roughly €30–80 for the first page and €15–40 for later pages (Cronoshare, January 2026). This is a market range, not our price.
| Extra | Price |
|---|---|
| 24-hour delivery | +30% of the order price |
| Same-day delivery | +60% of the order price, minimum €25 extra |
| Saturday urgent order | Urgent surcharge applies (+30% or +60%) |
| Paper copy by courier in Spain | €9, tracked, 24–48 hours |
| International courier | From €29 |
| Each extra hard copy | €9 |
Example: a €29 birth certificate costs €54 for same-day, because the €25 minimum applies. The same certificate costs €37.70 for 24-hour delivery. These are starting prices. For your final price, send your details through the quote form. We email you a written quotation, and work starts only after you approve it.
Do you work at weekends?
Yes, for urgent orders. We accept urgent orders on Saturdays, with the urgent surcharge. Sunday orders are by request only, subject to translator availability. Standard orders received at the weekend are processed on the next working day.
Our office hours are Monday to Friday 9:00–21:00 and weekends 10:00–18:00, Spanish time. For a Monday appointment, send a standard certificate by Wednesday. The signed PDF is then due by Friday; your quote confirms the exact time.
What we need from you right now
- A scan or photo of every page. Include the back of the document and any stamps.
- The apostille or legalisation. Get it first; then we translate the document and apostille together. See apostille before sworn translation and our apostille and sworn translation service.
- Your passport photo page. We check names against it and add a translator's note where spellings differ.
- Your deadline. The appointment date, or the date on your correction notice.
- A quick reply to the draft. You confirm names, dates and places before the seal is applied.
Originals are never needed. English originals go through our English to Spanish sworn translation service. Every other service is on all sworn translation services.

Ordering fast without cutting corners: your questions answered
A requerimiento with four working days left is exactly when a rushed choice goes wrong. Check these points before you pay.
- Is the translator real? Rushed or not, every translator we work with is MAEC-appointed and signs with their own official seal. Check that seal in the official MAEC list with how to verify a sworn translator in Spain.
- What if a rushed translation is rejected? Free, prioritised re-issue if rejected on formal grounds; see our re-issue policy. Speed never skips the draft check.
- Is my data safe? Files are used only for your order and deleted within 7 days of delivery, under our privacy policy.
- Can you meet my date? We say yes or no before you pay. We do not take an order we cannot deliver in time.

Frequently asked questions
What is the order cut-off for same-day delivery?
The same-day cut-off is 12:00 noon Spanish time (CET/CEST) on working days, for orders received and paid. It covers one- or two-page certificates in common languages. Delivery is by 20:00 the same day. Send the scan, apostille and passport page together so the translator can start at once.
Can you translate overnight for an appointment tomorrow?
Tell us the appointment time when you upload, and we confirm honestly whether it can be met. A single short certificate sent and paid by 12:00 noon is often possible. Paper by courier cannot arrive overnight, so this works only where a digitally signed PDF is accepted.
Is express sworn translation the same as a certified translation?
Yes. In Spain, when an office asks for an official or "certified" translation, it means a sworn translation (traducción jurada) by a MAEC-appointed translator. An express order is still a full sworn translation, signed and sealed by a MAEC-appointed translator. Only the speed changes.
