How much does a sworn translation cost?
As an indicative market range, sworn translations in Spain cost about €30–120 a page. That is roughly €30–80 for the first page and €15–40 for later pages (Cronoshare, January 2026). This is a market range, not our price. Sworn translators set their fees freely, and Real Decreto 724/2020 sets no official tariff. A short certificate usually costs less than a dense page. How much does a sworn translation cost per page?
Most sworn translators charge more for the first page than for later pages. So the sworn translation rate for a one-page certificate looks high next to a ten-page transcript. In Spanish this is the traducción jurada precio por página. A sworn translation cost per word is rare for certificates.

How much does a certified translation cost in Spain?
In Spain, when an office asks for an official or "certified" translation, it means a sworn translation (traducción jurada) by a MAEC-appointed translator. So the certified translation price in Spain is the sworn price above. A certified translation made outside Spain, for example by a UK or US translator, is not a sworn translation. Most Spanish offices won't accept it. The difference is explained in sworn vs certified translation.
What is the sworn translation price for each document?
Each document has a starting price that depends on its type and source language. Certificates are priced per document. Transcripts, bank statements and syllabi are priced per page. The apostille page is translated with the document, at no extra charge.

A file costs the sum of its documents, at the prices above. One sworn translator per language pair handles it, and we coordinate one delivery. Every name is spelled the same way, and your written quotation shows one total.

What is included in every sworn translation price?
Every fixed price includes a MAEC-appointed sworn translator and a draft you approve before the seal. It also includes translation of the apostille page and a digitally signed PDF. If an office rejects the translation on formal grounds, we redo it free and with priority.

You are covered by a free re-issue, and the translator's appointment is official and checkable. Take a €29 quote for a marriage certificate going to the Registro Civil: here is what protects that money.

Can I pay in rupees, euros or dollars?
All prices are charged in euros. You can still pay from any country, and your card or PayPal converts the amount. Indian clients see approximate rupee prices on our India page.

Can I trust a cheap sworn translator in Spain?
A cheap sworn translator in Spain can be genuine, but check before you pay. A quote far below the market range may not be a sworn translation at all. Match the name, language pair and number on the seal in the official MAEC search (Buscador-STIJ). Steps: verify a Spanish sworn translator.

Are there hidden fees in a sworn translation quote?
No. The fixed total covers the translation, the apostille page, a draft to approve and the signed PDF. Paper copies and urgent delivery appear as separate lines before you pay. Apostille fees go to the issuing authority, such as £45 for a UK paper apostille (source: gov.uk, 12 October 2026).
Why is a sworn translation dearer than a normal one?
Only a translator appointed by Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC) can sign and seal it. The result is official and valid in Spain without further legalisation. The translator signs and seals it under a personal appointment and is responsible for its accuracy, so it costs more than an uncertified translation.
Do you charge per word or per page?
Neither for certificates: they have one price per document, from €29. Transcripts, bank statements and syllabi are priced per page. Corporate documents cost €0.12 per word, minimum €49.
