Philippine nurse documents: sworn translation for homologation

Living in Spain, perhaps as a carer, and ready to homologate your nursing degree? We coordinate the sworn translation into Spanish (traducción jurada) of your Philippine nurse documents: BSN diploma, transcript of records, PRC certificates and NBI clearance. A MAEC-appointed sworn translator signs each one, for the Ministry and your Colegio de Enfermería. Diplomas take 24–48 hours, transcripts 2–5 working days. From €29 per document.

Form fields: where you live now (Spain, Philippines, Middle East, UK, other) · stage (homologation, colegio or work visa) · your deadline · scans · email · WhatsApp (optional, +44 7482 545337)

Upload scans for a fixed total before you pay. As of August 2026, Spain's register lists no sworn translators for Tagalog. Your documents are in English, so an English–Spanish sworn translator handles them.

We are not affiliated with the PRC, CHED, the DFA, BLS International, Spain's Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities or any Colegio de Enfermería. We are not a recruitment agency.

What is the path for Filipino nurses to work in Spain?

Your file usually moves through six steps, in this order:

  1. CHED CAV and DFA apostille on your diploma and transcript of records.
  2. Sworn translation of each document and its apostille.
  3. Homologation filed online, with the current €166.50 fee (tasa 790-107).
  4. Spanish B2, for example a DELE. Only nationals of countries where Spanish is an official language are exempt.
  5. Colegiación, with a recent good standing certificate.
  6. Work authorisation, applied for by your employer in Spain, then your visa at the consulate.

The general rules for all foreign nurses are on our nurse homologation Spain translation page. Salary, demand and the job hunt are in our guide to how to work as a nurse in Spain. For visa steps, see sworn translation for a Spain visa and Spain work visa sworn translation. Full visa checklists are in our Philippines-to-Spain visa guide.

If an agency mentions an official Spain–Philippines government recruitment programme for nurses, ask it for the official source.

Getting PRC, CHED and NBI papers while you live in Spain

You can usually avoid a trip home. A relative or an authorised representative in the Philippines can request your CHED CAV, PRC certificates and the DFA apostille. Check the current authorisation rules with the DFA and the Philippine Embassy in Madrid. The DFA also offers an eApostille for PSA eCertificates and CHED eCAVs. For the NBI clearance from abroad, use NBI Form No. 5: fingerprints are taken locally, for example at a police station, and the consul signs. Then send us scans once each apostille is on.

Working in Dubai, Riyadh or London instead? We work from scans, so you can order from anywhere. Registered with the UK's NMC? See UK documents sworn translation for Spain.

Which Philippine nursing documents must be translated?

Every Philippine document you file in Spain needs a Spanish translation, even though it is in English. BLS Philippines checklists state that all documents presented in English must be translated by a traductor jurado. For homologation, that means your diploma and transcript; for the colegio, your PRC good standing certificate.

The table lists each document in a Filipino nurse homologation file and its route before translation.

Document Issued by Before translation Our page
BSN diploma Your college CHED CAV, then DFA apostille Degree certificate sworn translation Spanish
Transcript of records Your college CHED CAV in sealed envelope, then DFA apostille Academic transcript sworn translation Spanish
Course descriptions, if requested Your college Ask your school for certified copies Syllabus translation Spain
Certificate of Good Standing (COGS) PRC Regional Office Original or certified true copy from PRC, then DFA apostille Certificate of good standing translation Spanish
NBI clearance NBI Dry seal, verifiable online, then DFA apostille Police clearance certificate sworn translation Spanish
PSA birth certificate PSA Original PSA copy, then DFA apostille Birth certificate sworn translation Spanish

The DFA's requirements page lists what it accepts for each document. More on Philippine routes: Philippine documents sworn translation for Spain.

Transcript of records translation into Spanish for nurse homologation

Spain studies your transcript most closely. The Ministry's benchmark for nursing is 3 years of study and 2,300 hours of clinical training. Your transcript should show hours per subject, including Related Learning Experience (RLE). We translate every hour exactly as written and never add totals.

CHED issues the CAV, and you take it to the DFA "in sealed envelope". Do not open it yourself. CHED also issues an eCAV, which the DFA can apostille electronically.

PRC COGS translation into Spanish for the colegio

The PRC issues a Certificate of Good Standing (COGS) at its Regional Offices, on presentation of a valid ID. Spanish colegios ask for proof from your home authority that you are not barred from practice. For a Filipino nurse, that is usually the COGS. Colegios generally want it no more than 3 months old, so request it last.

PRC Resolution 2025-1957 dropped the COGS requirement only for PRC ID renewal through an accredited organisation. It does not affect the COGS you need abroad. We also translate the PRC Certification of Passing or Board Rating.

How long does the process take for Filipino nurses?

It varies with your documents and your Spanish, so no one can promise a total. The legal fixed points are these: the Ministry has up to 6 months to decide on homologation. With no decision, the application counts as refused. If it sets compensatory measures, such as a training period or aptitude test, you have 4 years to complete them.

Stage Usual time Source or note
CHED CAV and DFA apostille Varies by office Check current CHED and DFA processing
Sworn translation 24–48 hours to 5 working days Degree, COGS, transcript
Homologation decision Up to 6 months RD 889/2022 art. 18.3
Compensatory measures Within 4 years RD 889/2022 art. 19
Spanish B2 Depends on you Start early

Translations do not expire, so order them as soon as your apostilles arrive. Only the COGS and NBI clearance should wait.

Which certified translation does Spain accept for Philippine nursing documents?

Spain's Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities accepts translations made by a sworn translator appointed by Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC). Such a translation is official in Spain without further legalisation. BLS Philippines checklists also ask for a traductor jurado, so one sworn translation serves both stages.

What slows Filipino nurses down, and how do we avoid it?

Most delays are about timing and names. A COGS or NBI clearance expires while the homologation is pending. A CAV envelope is opened before the DFA visit. A document is translated before its apostille. Or the middle name is read as a given name.

Your Filipino middle name is your mother's maiden surname. We keep the order shown in your passport and add a translator's note where needed. One translator handles your whole set, so your name is spelled the same way everywhere.

What do we check before your Philippine nursing documents are sealed?

Before the seal goes on, we confirm each DFA apostille is present and translated. We check names against your passport and match subject titles across diploma and transcript. Every hour, grade and RLE entry is translated as written. You approve a draft before the translator signs.

Who translates a Filipino nurse's documents?

Yes. A PRC COGS can take weeks to obtain, so you should know who handles it. Every translator we work with is a sworn translator-interpreter appointed by Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC). They work with their own official seal, which you can match on the official MAEC list. If the Ministry, your colegio or the consulate rejects the translation on formal grounds, it is redone free and prioritised.

How much does a sworn translation set for a Filipino nurse cost?

You pay in euros, and we quote in writing before work starts. Each DFA apostille is translated with its document. Spain's homologation fee of €166.50 is paid separately to the Ministry. Digital translations carry the translator's qualified electronic signature.

As an indicative market range, sworn translations in Spain cost about €30–120 a page. That is roughly €30–80 for the first page and €15–40 for later pages (Cronoshare, January 2026). This is a market range, not our price.

Package What it covers Price Turnaround
BSN diploma Diploma with apostille From €29 24–48 hours
Transcript of records Price per page From €29 per page 2–5 working days
PRC COGS Certificate with apostille From €29 24–48 hours
Full nurse set Diploma, transcript, COGS, NBI Sum of the items above (NBI clearance from €29) 2–5 working days

These are starting prices. For your final price, send your details through the quote form. We email you a written quotation, and work starts only after you approve it. Prices shown are for English, French, Italian, Portuguese and German. Arabic, Russian, Ukrainian and Romanian start from €39 per certificate. Chinese, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali and other languages start from €49. A tracked paper copy by courier within Spain costs €9.

Every other document: sworn translation price. You can get a fixed quote for your Philippine nurse documents by uploading scans.

Which other services help Filipino nurses and agencies?

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a PRC licence to apply?

It depends on the stage. Homologation looks at your degree, transcript and identity document. The colegio asks for proof from your home regulator that you are not barred from practice. For most Filipino nurses, that means a PRC COGS.

Can I work as a caregiver while homologation is pending?

It depends on your residence permit and its conditions. We do not advise on immigration law. Ask the office that issued your permit, or a lawyer, before taking any job.

Do English PRC and CHED documents really need a Spanish translation?

Yes. Spain's Ministry requires an official translation of documents not in Spanish. BLS Philippines checklists say the same for visa files.

How do I start my Filipino nurse translation order?

Upload scans of each document, its DFA apostille and the CAV, and tell us your stage and deadline. Originals are never needed. Your quote shows the fixed total and delivery date. Nothing starts until you accept it.
